Swedish track and field legend Carolina Klüft helped draw up the match-ups for the 2025/26 Regular Season yesterday. Following the Draw, we caught up with the athlete for a short interview.
There isn't much Carolina Klüft hasn't won, with Olympic gold and World and European championship titles to her name. How did she find participating on an international stage compared to a domestic competition?
"The pressure is different, the big games used to really give me extra energy and power," she revealed, "the focus is the same, but it's something more on the international level."
"Winning can be a short feeling, you really need to love the sport to succeed."Carolina Klüft, Olympic gold medalist
As a highly successful athlete, how hard and challenging is defending a big title and what could reigning Champions Hockey League Champions ZSC Lions Zurich be feeling heading into 2025/26?
"It's a long process, but it comes down to the love of the sport, the hunger to get back out and push yourself even harder each year," she explained.
Can one draw any parallels between athletics and ice hockey?
"Well, there are a lot of differences, but they are both really fast games and you really need to be able to quickly re-focus," she said, "quickly putting setbacks behind you and moving forward is key."
