The second match up between Ukranian team HC Donbass Donetsk, and Danish side Rungsted Seier Capital took place on 11 September. The game was another tightly contested battle between the two sides, and it was Rungsted who again came out on top, this time in a 4-3 OT win.
The loss is salt in the wound, given the outcome of their first game of the season where Donbass went down to the Danes 3-2 in a shootout.
24-year-old Donbass forward Olegs Sislannikovs described the team's efforts: "We tried to go hard, we knew that we needed points here on this away game in Rungsted, so we pushed hard and we put everything out."
Rungsted forward Fredrik Bjerrum opened up the scoring less than a minute into the game, with a close range shot, giving the Danes a 1-0 lead going into the second period. Less than 10 minutes into the second period Rungsted extended the lead to 2-0 thanks to André Pison.
Donbas fought back, cutting the lead in half after a powerplay goal from Russian forward Pavel Medvedev. With the game back in reach, the visitors had the third period to gain ground against the Danes, and that's exactly what they did.
After Rungsted's third goal of the night, a powerplay goal by defenceman Tim Daly, Donbass were able to net two goals within minutes of each other to equalise and take the game to OT. Both goals came from Donbass' defencemen, who are in their debut season with the Ukranian team, Belarusian Vladzislau Sakalouski and Russian Nikita Zhuldikov.

With two more games remaining in Group G, the Ukranian side have their work cut out for them, and now face top Austrian team KAC Klagenfurt, who are on a four-game winning streak, and currently lead Group G with ten points.
The Austrian's had a somewhat shaky start with two OT wins, but have since found their stride, tallying two dominant wins against Rungsted, and French contenders, the Rouen Dragons.
When asked about the remaining games, and Donbass' chances, Sislannikovs was optimistic, "We still have chances, and we will work hard now and prepare ourselves for Klagenfurt."
With five points each in Group G, Donbass are currently neck and neck with Rungsted, and to qualify, the Ukranian side would need to secure two wins against Klagenfurt.
