It was a game of tough defending and control as HC Davos welcomed Czech Extraliga champions Oceláři Třinec to Switzerland for Game Day 5.
The Swiss giants managed the game perfectly, denying Třinec the entire game to ultimately beat them 4-0 and secure their place in the 2022/23 Champions Hockey League Playoffs.
"I am very happy that we won and reached our goal of qualifying for the Playoffs," started forward Matěj Stránský.
The 29-year-old Czech native has scored five goals and an assist so far this season and spent two seasons with the four-time Czech Extraliga champions before moving to Davos for 2021/22.
What were his thoughts as he lined up to face his former club in the CHL on Tuesday night?
"It was nice to see them, it was fun!" said the Czech international.
Stránský has scored in each and every game so far this season but the sniper seemed to have lost his magic touch against his former employers - was it mercy for Třinec?
"No no," said Stránský quickly, "I just wasn't lucky enough this game. I will get ready for the return game in Třinec!"

Davos' 4-0 victory gave them the final points they needed to secure their spot in the final 16 of the season which Stránský mentions was his side's "goal from the very beginning".
"Now we will have to wait and see who we are drawn against in the Playoffs Draw," he added.
Davos have won 4/5 games this season and have been one of the strongest teams of the Group Stage. What is their goal for the remainder of the season?
"We are just going to keep going," said Stránský, "we want to go as far as possible."
The Swiss club still have one final game remaining in their Group Stage schedule, a return game against Třinec in the Czech Republic.
"Obviously we still have to play one more game in Třinec and we want to win because we want to advance from top spot in our group," concluded Stránský.
