On Thursday night, Frölunda Indians dominated Game 6 of the SHL Final against Djurgården Stockholm to claim their second domestic and European double, emulating the great team of 2015/16.
Frölunda didn’t have it all their own way in the SHL Final this year, as fellow CHL qualifiers Djurgården put up a stern test, leaving the series level 2-2 after four games. However, #ChampionsGoBeyond, and Frölunda turned on the style with two consecutive 6-2 victories to claim their first Swedish title in 3 seasons, sparking wild celebrations.
Who else but Ryan Lasch? Once again, the American forward and all-time leading CHL Top Scorer was in fine form for Frölunda, finishing with 19 points in 16 playoff games. Also, the youngest ever scorer in a CHL Final, Samuel Fagemo, proved why he is one of Europe’s top young talents, scoring 6 goals in 16 playoff games, including one each in Games 5 and 6 of the SHL Final.
Congratulations to Europe’s golden boys, Frölunda Indians! Enjoy the party and see you in the Autumn!
