Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Lukko Rauma's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Finnish team - here's what they had to say!
Belfast Giants Head Coach Adam Keefe: “Lukko Rauma have a great hockey programme, with both its men’s and women’s teams being very successful. Having won the Finnish Liiga in the 2021/22 season, we know they’re a well-organised side that will prove to be stern opposition for all teams in the CHL.”
Adler Mannheim Head Coach Johan Lundskog: “Another tough opponent. Just like every other Finnish team that I have ever played or coached against. They are going to be a highly competitive and well-structured team. It’s going to be another big challenge for us, no doubt.”
Genève-Servette Head Coach Jan Cadieux: “Facing a Liiga team is always an exciting challenge. The standard of the Finnish league is really high and Lukko Rauma didn’t finish third this sea- son for nothing. They are a big team with talented players, and they have CHL experience, as this is their sixth appearance in nine years. The trip to Finland will be full of pitfalls, but we’ll be up for the challenge.”
Rapperswil-Jona Lakers Head Coach Stefan Hedlund: “Lukko Rauma are one of the very best Finnish teams. They always make it to the playoffs. Lukko are very good in quick transitions and they have a good mix of forecheck and trapping.”
Red Bull Munich Head Coach Toni Söderholm: “Lukko Rauma are a classic Finnish team. Therefore, we will meet a very strong team in terms of skating and playing.”
