There's one name who isn't a surprise nomination for this season's LGT Most Valuable Player Award. If the Frölunda Indians are having a deep run in the CHL, then more often than not Ryan Lasch is a pivotal cog in that machine.
Lasch has consistently been one of the greatest players in Champions Hockey League history, and despite already having an incredible record in the competition previously, he’s having arguably his best season to date this season. With 20-points through 10-games, he’s only two-points shy of matching his best CHL season set last season with 22-points as he secured his second CHL title, with Frölunda winning their third.
The CHLs All-Time points leader is a huge part of his teams success, and that’s the exact same story this season as he not only leads his team in points, but the entire competition in points and assists. Frölunda had a rough start to their campaign, losing their opening two-games but Lasch hit the ground running with four points in the opening two games, and it’s been nothing but up for Lasch and Frölunda ever since as they’re two games away from their fifth CHL final.
