Alongside Vítkovice Ridera captain Dominik Lakatoš, goaltender Matěj Machovský has also helped his club immensely, earning him a nomination for the prestigious LGT MVP Award for the 2023/24 season of the Champions Hockey League.
With five starts to his name this season, the 30-year-old has allowed a mere five goals to touch the back of his net all while making a whopping 152 saves, including some huge steals, to keep his team on the right side of the scoreboard.
The Czech goalie recorded a shutout during Vítkovice's 5-0 battering of ERC Ingolstadt back on Game Day 6 and with a near 97% Save Percentage, he's one of the highest-performing goaltenders in the league.
Machovský is a no-nonsense type and has proved a near-perfect backstop for the team that have surprised many by how strong they've been on the European stage this season.
You can vote for Matěj Machovský as your LGT MVP for 2023/24 from Sunday, 14 January at 17:00 CET here.
