Top game officials from the Finnish Liiga and the Czech Extraliga will take charge of this season's Champions Hockey League Final.
The head referees for the CHL Final, which will be played on 20 February in Geneva (SUI), will be Mikko Kaukokari and Joonas Kova (both FIN) – two of the very best referees in the Finnish Liiga with many officiated games on an international level under their belt.
Kaukokari, who started his career as a referee following a professional playing career, was previously assigned to the 2017, 2019 and 2020 CHL Finals. Furthermore, he has been selected for two World Junior Championship Finals (U20 and U18) as well as for the Semi-Finals (2023) and two Bronze Medal games at the World Men’s Championships and has officiated multiple Liiga playoffs finals games.
Kova has been a head referee in Finland’s top division for over ten years and has been selected for four games in the Liiga playoffs finals over the course of the last two seasons. On an international level, he was assigned for the World Junior Championships in 2022 and 2024 and officiated many more international games.
Running the lines at the CHL Final in Geneva will be Jiří Svoboda and Josef Špůr (both CZE), working for the Czech Extraliga.
