- Josefsson: 2 goals and 1 assist for Djurgården
- Adamský: goal for Třinec
- Reideborn: 28 saves for Djurgården
Djurgården Stockholm opened the new CHL campaign with a 6-1 win, although the game was not as lopsided as that score indicates, as it was 2-1 heading into the third period, and in fact Třinec outshot Djurgården 27-20 on the night. Adam Reideborn was big when he had to be in net and his team's big guns did the scoring when they needed.
Jacob Josefsson came up big in his first competitive game with Djurgården after eight NHL seasons, with two goals and one assist. He was the game's only multi-point scorer, and he opened the scoring on a nifty mid-air deflection nine minutes in and then Gustav Possler made it 2-0 in the last minute of the opening period on a one-timer. Třinec tried to push back in the second period and got a goal by Martin Adamský, but two goals 43 seconds apart early in the third period put the game away in Djurgården’s favour.
