- Tomáš Marcinko: 1 goal + 2 assists for Třinec
- Maxim Maltsev: 1 goal + 1 assist for Minsk
- Třinec now 1 point ahead of Minsk
After four games, both Oceláři Třinec and Yunost Minsk have won twice at home and lost twice away. After erasing a 3-0 deficit on Friday and defeating the Lahti Pelicans 5-3, the Oceláři continued their momentum against Minsk, building up a 5-0 lead before eventually winning 7-2.
There were three goals in the first period. Třinec went right to the power play in the first minute and at 1:06, Erik Hrňa’s one-timer beat goalie on the short side. Midway through the opening period, Třinec cashed in on their second power play as well when Ondřej Kovařčík finished off a nice three-way passing play. The third goal came in the last minute off an attacking-zone faceoff at even strength, with a quick shot from Tomáš Marcinko.
After allowing three goals on 13 shots, Minsk starting goalie Yan Shelepnyov was lifted in favour of Igor Brikun, but that did little to stem the tide. Two goals 27 seconds apart made it 5-0 before the 28-minute mark. First it was Marian Adámek with a tricky wrister from the point through a crowd, and then David Kofroň took a pass in the slot and beat Brikun with a backhander upstairs.
Yunost did manage to get a pair of power-play goals back in the second period while Jiří Polanský was serving a double-minor for kneeing. First it was Maxim Matsev with a quick shot upstairs from in close while Patrik Bartošák was going down, and then 1:15 later, Bartošák got a piece of Maxim Parfeyevets’s slapper but it dribbled across the line to make it 5-2.
After a largely uneventful third period, Martin Adamský and Matěj Stránský scored two goals in the last two minutes to round out the scoring.
