QUICK STATS
- Zurich have only lost one game in the Swiss Life Arena this CHL season
- Färjestad won the Regular Season and were unbeaten across the first seven games of the season
- Very close in head-to-head stats
Just like our previous comparisons, Färjestad Karlstad and ZSC Lions Zurich are neck-and-neck in team stats. They've scored an equal 49 goals across 12 games (tying them both at 4.08 goals scored per game) and are nearly the same in goals against (22 against for Färjestad vs. 24 against for Zurich) and goal difference (+27 for Färjestad vs. +25 for Zurich).
Färjestad pull slightly ahead in powerplay efficiency, as their special unit has been operating at a nice 25.49%, compared to Zurich's respectable 21.43%.
The Swiss get them back in face-off win percentage, where their players beat those of their Swedish opponents by a whole 5% (56.01% vs. 50.87%).
The playing field levels back out when comparing penalty kill percentage, with both teams separated by mere tenths hovering around the 80.40% mark
Looking ahead to the Final, in which Zurich will have the benefit of home ice thanks to a better accumulated record throughout the entire 2024/25 CHL season, it's interesting to note that Färjestad have been clinical on the road this season having won 5/6 games away.
On the flip side, Zurich boast an eight-game unbeaten record heading into the all-important game, including them taking the likes of reigning DEL champions Eisbären Berlin or reigning CHL Champions Genève-Servette.
It's clear these two teams are in the 2024/25 Final for a reason. They have been deadly in the pan-European competition all season and are inseparable when it comes to stats, featuring near-identical stats across the board.
Both have relied on elite players from up and down their rosters to do the scoring and backed that up with solid defending and reliable goaltending. The Finalists finished first and second in the six-game Regular Season and haven't let up one bit since.
All in all, we've got a LOT to look forward to! Stay tuned to our web and social media channels for more CHL Final 2025 content!
