“It is the CHL’s objective via the Wild Card system to appoint deserving clubs and to contribute to the development of European club ice hockey by having a participation field as internationally diverse as possible. The nomination of Slovan Bratislava offers us the opportunity to welcome back Slovakia to our competition, a country with a storied hockey tradition and a track record of producing top-quality hockey players. Slovan Bratislava is a well-known, illustrious brand, and the club is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and showed great interest in showcasing itself on the European stage by competing in the CHL. For this reason, the CHL Board decided to allocate a Wild Card and the 32nd place in the 2021/22 CHL season to them,” read the CHL Board statement.

The announcement also means that the Group F Game Day Schedule can be announced. 

Slovan Bratislava will play their first CHL game on 27 August where they will face Leksands in Sweden. They will then travel to Switzerland to face Fribourg-Gottéron before welcoming both sides to Slovakia's capital, Bratislava.

Their final two Group Stage games, first away then on home ice, will be against the reigning Czech Extraliga Champions Oceláři Třinec.
